    INFORMATIVE SPEECH
Do you ever come to Padang in West Sumatera ? or do you ever heard a beautifully Padang in West Sumatera ? and do you heard how Padang’s condition recently ? well, now I’d like to inform you all, how Padang is.
Padang is a beautifull city, near by the beach and had many traditional culture which is still maintainable by the society. Many traditional food can you find there, such as rendang, dendeng balado, or even kerupuk balado. If you are a crazy spicy food lover, please come to Padang.
I lived in Padang for three years, yea, it’s not a long time. But I had my best time there. So many memory I got there, sweet seventeen birthday, senior high school time which is the best time I had, best friendship, and many more. The most thing I like in Padang is, wherever you go, you can easily find a food corner, café, and restaurant. Started from the cheapest till the most expensive one. And if you wanna go somewhere by public transportation, it’s easy for you to get them. The public transportation ( local people called it “angkot”) in there is so stylish. You know why, because each ‘angkot’ decking it out with a sticker, or a graffiti. And the music, it’s really FULL. You even cant talk to your friend or just to say “stop”.
But now, after the earthquake hit Padang, I thing i lost most of it. Everything was shattered, the road was torn apart. My sister told me that after a moment by the earthquake, Padang look like a death city. All you can heard is peoples screaming out for help. Many building which I knew was collapse such as Ambacang hotel, Mariani hotel, or a local library. I was so speechless when I watched TV and saw Padang. It’s like I saw an unknown city. Especially, when I heard about more than 800 people died and lost and so many people getting hurt, or a thousand people lost their home. They became homeless. My friend told me that the victims difficulty to find a food or fresh water.
Now, I only hope Padang can get back like yesterday. Padang which always visited by a foreign tourist or a local tourist. Padang which always crowded and the ‘angkot’ will work again. And the most important thing is, I hope the society slowly but sure can wake up from this nightmare and rebuild everything.

    INFORMATIVE SPEECH

Informative Speech- Bandung is a Great City

    Assalamualaikum….. Good morning every body
First of all, I would like to say thank you very much for Mr.Dadang Iskandar as our English lecture who has given me a good change to stand here delivere my speech, but before that I want to introduce my self, well my name is Aryane, I come from Bandung, and I graduated from five senior high school Bandung. In the next five minutes I would like to tell you about my hometown, Bandung.
Once, the city of Bandung was called Paris van Java. Indonesia’s third largest city is the provincial capital of West Java, a region popularly known as Pasundan. Bandung is the city of art & culture, and great number of nationally known architects, writers and academics, designers and painters, as well as other artists happen to reside in this modern city. European-style cafes and hotels, shops, boutiques and galleries and exciting nightspots make this city happening with the in-crowd. Bandung, with its wide tree-lined avenues and boulevards and its numerous Art Deco-period buildings is a great city to be. Hotel Savoy Homann, Grand Hotel Preanger and Vila Isola, the latter located on the road to Lembang, are all testament to Bandung’s rich history in Art Deco architecture.

Bandung has a relatively cool climate due to its altitude of about 750 meters above sea level. The city is surrounded by mountain ridge, on which slopes lush green tea plantations and flower vividly thrive. Coffee and tea have long been the main source of trade and consequently income for the city The cool green surroundings have earned Bandung the name City of Flowers.
Bandung is a great city. Comfortable weather, less pollution than Jakarta, great architecture, lots of tasty food.
I think that’s all a little my story about my hometown. The last but not less I just wanna say welcome to Bandung, enjoy this city, I hope you will get some happiness in here.
So guys thank you very much and see you….

  54. Informative Speech

Have you ever won a competition?

If you ask me, i’ll answer, “Yes, i have”.

In august 2006, I sent my essay about woman and history to komnas perempuan’s film competition. A month later, they called me. They said that I was invited to their workshop, and I was happy, because in Bandung, from 200 people who sent their essay to komnas, only 20 people was invited to this workshop. This workshop was held in Bandung and Yogyakarta. In this workshop I learned about Indonesian’s history, woman’s contribution, and also i learned about film and its element. After workshop, I and other participants made a film about woman and her contribution for this country. We worked in group. Each group consisted of 5 person.

Two month after made a film I and other participants went to Jakarta to attended komnas perempuan’s event. In this event they informed about winner of komnas perempuan’s film competition. And my group’s film chosen for categories “best scenario”. We were so happy to hear that.

That was one of my memorable and great experience. I didn’t know it then but it was also the most important personal experience of my life. Without this experience, I wouldn’t be here today and share it to all of you. thank you.
